In the early morning hours of April 9, 2016, a tragedy unfolded in the community of Roosevelt, New York, that left a family grieving and a neighborhood in search of answers. Allen Simpkins Jr., a 46-year-old man, was found lying on the ground in front of a residence on John Street.
