In the early moments of a Sunday morning in June 2019, a dispute on a Roosevelt, New York street escalated into gunfire, ending the life of 30-year-old Shamel Williams. A Black man from Jamaica, Queens, Williams was standing with two other men on West Fulton Avenue just after midnight on June 9th when a car approached them.
