In the autumn of 2021, a burst of gunfire on a Brooklyn street set in motion a tragedy that would end a young man's life nearly a month later. On the night of October 15, police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in front of 2055 Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie. There they found Jamere Jones, an 18-year-old male, with a gunshot wound to his back. Emergency services rushed him to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County for treatment.
