In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Rochester, New York, the life of Shafi Mutombo, a 30-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short. On March 8, 2022, shortly after midnight, Mutombo was driving a co-worker home after finishing his shift at work. As they traveled down Peckham Street, near Hudson Avenue, an altercation is believed to have occurred, shattering the predawn quiet.
