On August 30, 2024, at approximately 6:15 p.m., 39-year-old James Jackson Jr. was fatally shot while seated in his vehicle on Cuba Place in Rochester, New York. The incident was detected by a ShotSpotter activation, prompting police to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jackson's car crashed into a pole, with Jackson suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the University of Rochester Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
