Derrick Lamont Owens, a 30-year-old resident of the Bronx, New York, tragically lost his life on March 15, 2022, in a violent shooting incident. Derrick was outside the Bronx County Hall of Justice on East 161st Street near Sherman Avenue with his twin brother, Michael, when a gunman approached and opened fire around 7:20 p.m. Derrick was struck in the chest, while Michael sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
