In the Bronx, 30-year-old Derrick Lamont Owens, a male former NYCHA worker remembered by his family as being kind-hearted, was fatally shot on the evening of March 15, 2022. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in front of 281 E. 161st Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two men with gunshot wounds.
