Cesar Cortes, a 19-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on January 14, 2020, at Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas. The incident occurred when a 16-year-old fellow student accidentally shot him while showing off a handgun. The shooting was deemed unintentional, and the younger teen was later found guilty of manslaughter.
