Kenneth Johnson Jr., 26, a Black man from Rochester, New York, was spending the late evening of August 9, 2022, at his home on Roycroft Drive when the night cracked open with gunfire. Police were called to the 300 block near Carter Street at about 10:30 p.m. after reports of shots, and they found Johnson inside the house with gunshot wounds as others were nearby. Medics rushed him to Strong Memorial Hospital, but he died a short time later, leaving family and neighbors to absorb yet another sudd ...
