In the spring of 2006, a violent encounter on an otherwise ordinary day would ultimately prove fatal for Williams Agboola Ogunseitan. On April 20th, the 55-year-old man was assaulted in the 4200 block of Ellin Road in the Lanham area of Prince George's County, Maryland. The attack left him with significant injuries, including trauma to his head and a broken ankle.
Following the assault, Ogunseitan received medical attention at a local hospital for his injuries and was subsequently
released to recover at his home. For a little over a month, it may have seemed as though he was on the path to healing. However, the full extent of the damage from the April attack would tragically become apparent.
On May 25, 2006, Williams Ogunseitan was discovered deceased inside his residence on the 9300 block of Lanham Severn Road. An investigation into his death was launched, and the state medical examiner later determined that his death was a direct result of the injuries he had sustained in the assault a month prior. Consequently, his death was officially classified as a homicide. Law enforcement officials began an investigation to determine a motive for the attack, though information regarding any specific suspects or arrests in connection with the assault and subsequent death of Williams Ogunseitan is not publicly available.
