In the early hours of a Wednesday morning, the quiet of a Fort Washington, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunshots. On March 21, 2012, at approximately 12:50 a.m., patrol officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Palmer Road after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they were met with a grim and startling scene: a vehicle engulfed in flames.
