In the summer of 2014, a violent encounter on a Baltimore street cut short the life of Bruce Paige, a 46-year-old man. On August 5th, in the 500 block of North Monroe Street, Paige was shot multiple times, sustaining wounds to his head and torso. He was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses at the scene were able to provide crucial information to the police, which quickly led to a breakthrough in the case.
Based on positive identifications from those who saw the incident unfold, authorities focused their investigation on a single individual. This led them to 23-year-old Che Brandon McDowell.
Within a couple of days of the fatal shooting, McDowell was located and taken into custody by the Baltimore Police Department. He was subsequently charged with the first-degree murder of Bruce Paige. In addition to the murder charge, McDowell also faced various handgun and assault charges related to the incident.
