On a Saturday afternoon, December 16, 2017, Brandon Collins, a 28-year-old male, was at the House of Style barbershop on Maplewood Drive in Baton Rouge with his two children. He stepped outside to the parking lot to take a phone call. While he was standing next to his car, two men approached him and shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot. Emergency services responded to the scene around 5:26 p.m. and transported Collins to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
