Eric Lathers, a 27-year-old man, was killed in an early-morning shooting on June 4, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The case began in the darkness of Thursday morning, when Baton Rouge police were called to the 2500 block of 73rd Avenue after a reported shooting around 1:35 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Lathers inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds.
