In the late afternoon of January 20, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the ordinary atmosphere of a McDonald's parking lot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When police responded to the scene at the intersection of Airline Highway and Prescott Road around 3:53 p.m., they discovered 22-year-old D'Shawn Marcelle Brown, an African American male, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds near his vehicle.
