Around 1:35 a.m., officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Wooddale Boulevard, near Florida Boulevard, after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators located a vehicle parked on the street with an unresponsive individual inside.
Inside the driver's seat of the vehicle, police discovered Stanley Lofton, a 37-year-old male, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived to provide aid and transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite the life-saving efforts administered by medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
