In the late afternoon of a November Saturday in 2017, a sense of normalcy was shattered in the Eastport neighborhood of Annapolis, Maryland. Terry Bosley, a 17-year-old male, was walking with a group of individuals on President Street, near the intersection with Van Buren Drive. It was just a day after his seventeenth birthday. Suddenly, the report of a gunshot broke the calm.
One of the people in the group had shot Terry.
The shooter and the rest of the group then fled the scene, disappearing into a small blue vehicle. Emergency services were called, and Terry was found with at least one gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, the young man, a student and athlete at Phoenix Academy, succumbed to his injuries the following day, on November 18, 2017.
The Annapolis Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the homicide. Detectives believed that the shooting was not a random act of violence and that Terry was likely targeted by someone he knew. This belief was based on the initial findings that the person who shot him was within the group he was walking with. The motive for the shooting, however, remained unclear in the early stages of the investigation.
In the wake of the tragedy, the Annapolis community mourned the loss of a young life taken too soon. Friends and family remembered Terry as a popular student. To help with the financial burden of his funeral, his sister started a GoFundMe campaign. Despite the ongoing police investigation and pleas to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest, no suspects have been publicly identified or apprehended in connection with the murder of Terry Bosley. The case remains an active investigation.
