William F. Flood, a 37-year-old police officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 21, 1977, in Harlem, Manhattan. Officer Flood was off-duty at the time of his death. He was entering a building on Nichols Avenue with another individual when they were followed by a suspect who attempted to rob them.
