On a Saturday morning in Canarsie, Brooklyn, 17-year-old Bryan Sanon was out for a walk with his friends near Farragut Road and East 82nd Street. It was March 13, 2021, and the day took a tragic turn when a grey sedan appeared and a gunman emerged, opening fire on the group of teenagers. Sanon was fatally wounded in the attack. One of his friends, an 18-year-old, was shot in the leg, and another, aged 19, was struck in the face. Bryan was pronounced dead at the scene.
