In a tragic turn of events on June 30, 2009, 53-year-old Rita Ann Carrico, a white female from Louisville, Kentucky, was found brutally murdered alongside her 83-year-old mother, Allie Sylvia Habich. The horrific discovery was made in her mother’s Fairdale home on National Turnpike. Carrico, a dedicated homemaker and active church volunteer, had gone to her mother's residence that morning to take her to a doctor's appointment. They never made it.
