On a Thursday night in Oxon Hill, Maryland, the sound of gunshots pierced the air, prompting patrol officers to investigate. What they discovered on September 10, 2020, in the 600 block of Audrey Lane was a grim scene. Two men, 27-year-old Davonte Simms of Alexandria, Virginia, and 26-year-old Kion Scott of Oxon Hill, were found outside, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Both men, pronounced dead at the scene, became the center of a double homicide investigation. Davonte Simms was a male.
