In the winter of 2020, the life of 18-year-old Tyrone Wolfe was cut short by an act of violence on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. A recent graduate of New Town High School, the young Black / African American man was well-known in his Park Heights neighborhood. On the afternoon of December 4th, at approximately 1:53 p.m., tragedy struck as Wolfe was walking near the intersection of Park Heights Avenue and Ulman Avenue.
In the broad daylight of that Friday afternoon, an unknown
assailant or assailants opened fire, fatally wounding Wolfe. Emergency services were quick to respond, rushing him to Sinai Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the injuries he sustained proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The incident added to a growing and somber count of teenage homicide victims in the city that year.
In the wake of the shooting, friends and community members gathered to mourn the loss of a young life and to make a plea for an end to the violence that plagued their community. The motive behind the killing remains a mystery, and as of the latest reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Tyrone Wolfe.
