On a summer evening in 2021, the life of 28-year-old Darrell Marshall of Washington, D.C. was tragically cut short in a parking lot in Temple Hills, Maryland. The male victim was found by Prince George's County police officers on June 18, 2021, at approximately 7:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation by the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit revealed that the
shooting was not a random act of violence. Detectives determined that Marshall knew his assailant and that the fatal encounter stemmed from an ongoing dispute. This breakthrough in the case led investigators to identify a suspect.
Less than two weeks after the shooting, on July 1, 2021, police announced the arrest of 30-year-old Emanuel Honemond of Temple Hills. Honemond, who resided on the same block where the shooting occurred, was taken into custody and charged with first and second-degree murder, as well as other related offenses. Following his arrest, he was held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status, awaiting legal proceedings.
