In the quiet suburbs of Silver Spring, Maryland, a tragic event unfolded that cut short the life of Whali Aziz Shabazz, a 42-year-old man from Germantown. On a September day in 2021, Shabazz, who was also known as Tony Davis, found himself in the company of a woman on Baileys Court. The peaceful scene was shattered by the arrival of her estranged husband, Gary Savage, who had driven all the way from his home in Tampa, Florida.
