In a tragic and shocking incident on March 16, 2022, Kintrell Todd McEachern Sr., a 40-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The event unfolded around 5:30 p.m. following a heated argument between McEachern Sr. and his 24-year-old son, Kintrell Todd McEachern Jr.
The dispute escalated dramatically when the younger McEachern produced a handgun and shot his father multiple times in the torso and once in the head.
At the time of the shooting, McEachern Sr. was at the hospital visiting a relative. After the confrontation turned deadly, his son fled the scene in a vehicle, sparking an immediate police investigation. Medical personnel from the hospital rushed to render aid to McEachern Sr., but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The hospital was temporarily placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure, though patient care was not impacted.
The search for the suspect, Kintrell Todd McEachern Jr., concluded a short time later in a wooded area in Baltimore County. There, police discovered him deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
