Monica Nicole Bullock, a 31-year-old Black female, was a sociable person, known affectionately as 'MiMi' to her friends and family. She was working as a cashier in the Frankford neighborhood of northeast Baltimore and was focused on creating a stable life with her boyfriend, with the hope of one day being able to raise her young son, Naszir.
On the night of August 26, 2022, just before 10 p.m., Monica's life was cut short when she was found fatally shot in the 5300 block of Eastbury
Avenue, not far from her apartment. Baltimore Police responded to the scene and identified her as the victim. The investigation into her death remains open, but authorities have not yet identified any suspects or a motive for the shooting.
Monica's mother, Cheryl Auburger, has expressed her frustration and fear that her daughter's case may not receive the full attention it deserves from a police department burdened with a high number of homicide cases. The family and community continue to seek justice for Monica, hoping that someone will come forward with information that could lead to an arrest. Weeks before Monica's death, a 24-year-old man had been critically injured in a shooting on the same block.
