Deputy Sheriff Samuel E. Duhon, aged 52, was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. On March 6, 1925, while en route to a liquor raid near Vinton, Louisiana, Deputy Duhon and Federal Prohibition Agent William Collins were ambushed and shot. Their bodies were discovered the following day in the back seat of their vehicle, riddled with bullets, in a cemetery near Starks, Louisiana.
