Michael G. Fountain, a 56-year-old male from Vinton, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on March 8, 2017. The incident occurred at Fountain's residence on Highway 109 South in Vinton. According to the initial investigation, Fountain was involved in a verbal altercation with Frin W. Coward, a 70-year-old acquaintance. The argument escalated, and Coward fired several shots, striking and killing Fountain in the driveway of his home.
