In the early morning hours of January 28, 2012, a dedicated public servant, 48-year-old Master Corporal Sandra 'Sandy' Rogers, responded to a call that would tragically be her last. A 27-year veteran of the Aiken Department of Public Safety, Rogers was dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle in Eustis Park. What began as a routine call escalated into a fatal encounter, cutting short the life of a beloved officer and leaving a community in mourning.
