In the early morning hours of May 9, 2015, Eugene Marshall Delong III, a 28-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot inside his Loris, South Carolina, home. The incident occurred in the living room of his residence on Bill Grissett Road. Authorities believe the motive for the attack was robbery.
According to the Horry County deputy coroner, Delong died from a gunshot wound at approximately 2:45 a.m.
An unknown intruder is believed to have entered the home, leading to the fatal confrontation. The Horry County Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide, seeking information from the public to help identify the person or persons responsible for Delong's death.
