Charles Edward Durant II, a 20-year-old from Loris, South Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on April 24, 2018. The incident occurred at the corner of Church and Spring streets in Loris, where a vehicle pulled up and shots were fired at a truck in which Durant and his girlfriend were riding. Durant's girlfriend was also injured in the shooting.
