In the early morning hours of Saturday, February 8, 2020, the life of 18-year-old Rashawn D. Smith of Tabor City, North Carolina, was tragically cut short. Initially reported as a single-vehicle accident around 2:30 a.m. near S.C. Highway 9 in the vicinity of Loris, South Carolina, the grim reality of the situation soon became apparent. A passerby noticed what appeared to be bullet holes in the vehicle and alerted the authorities.
