In the summer of 2020, a dispute that reportedly began on social media escalated to violence, ending the life of a young man from Loris, South Carolina. Mequaia Denzel Haywood, a 27-year-old Black male, was shot on the evening of Tuesday, July 21, 2020. The incident took place on Ino Drive, a residential street in the Loris area.
