In the winter of 2018, the life of Kendal Ray, a 27-year-old Black male from Loris, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the evening of January 6th, what began as a seemingly ordinary encounter took a fatal turn. Ray was at a residence on Barts Road when he stepped outside with a man named Quotase Jenrette. Jenrette, who was 20 years old at the time, allegedly wanted to show Ray a firearm. Moments later, the sharp report of a gunshot shattered the night.
