In the quiet town of Pageland, South Carolina, a violent chain of events unfolded on October 25, 2015, forever altering the lives of several families. Tyvon Terrell Threatt, a 19-year-old Black male, found himself in the midst of a domestic dispute at a residence on Evans Mill Road. The situation escalated rapidly, and in the ensuing chaos, Threatt was shot. First responders arrived to a scene of turmoil, discovering Threatt wounded on the steps of the home.
He was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, but tragically succumbed to his injuries the following day, October 26, 2015.
The night of violence did not end with the shooting of Threatt. Inside the home, law enforcement also found Shannon Rasheal Little, who was deceased, and another injured individual, Luther Ray Chambers Jr. The suspect behind this violent outburst was identified as Rashawn Montez Little. When deputies attempted to apprehend him, a gunfight broke out, leading to a tense 12-hour manhunt for Little. The search concluded with his capture, and the community was left to grapple with the senseless loss of life and the violence that had shattered their peace.
Following his arrest, Rashawn Montez Little faced a series of serious charges for his actions on that fateful night. The legal process moved forward, and he was brought to trial to answer for the deaths and injuries he caused. The jury found Little guilty of two counts of murder for the deaths of Tyvon Threatt and Shannon Little. In addition to the murder convictions, he was also found guilty on six counts of attempted murder and three counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. For these crimes, the court imposed a significant sentence, condemning Rashawn Montez Little to life in prison plus an additional 35 years, ensuring he would be held accountable for the lives he had taken and the many others he had irrevocably changed.
