On March 17, 2016, 16-year-old Alexander Malachi tragically lost his life in Bennettsville, South Carolina. The incident occurred early in the morning outside a home on Spencer Street. According to Lt. John B. Hepburn of the Bennettsville police, Malachi was shot in the lower chest area while inside a car. He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Cheraw, where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:30 a.m. Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound.
