Towan Harrington, 18-year-old Black male from the Bennettsville area of Marlboro County, South Carolina, was shot on the evening of January 26, 2026, after what investigators described as an altercation that spiraled into gunfire. Wounded and desperate for help, he ran to the Bennett Pointe Apartments near Cheraw Street/Cheraw Highway, reaching a residence there as neighbors and bystanders realized something terrible had just happened.
