In the late hours of November 18, 2016, a tragic incident unfolded in Greenwood, South Carolina, resulting in the untimely death of a local teenager. Markevious K. Jackson, a 16-year-old Black male student at Greenwood High School, was found lying on Meadow Street suffering from a single gunshot wound. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported him to Self Regional Healthcare, but despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries.
