Racheal Beauchanp, a 16-year-old girl, was shot and killed on February 21, 2009, in Chicago. The incident occurred while Racheal was riding in a van with several others on the South Side of Chicago. The van was traveling through the Brighton Park neighborhood when the shooting took place, a community that has experienced significant violence over the years. Racheal was critically injured during the incident and succumbed to her wounds the following day.
