On a tragic morning in North Charleston, South Carolina, the life of 58-year-old Pamela Sue Coleman, a White female, was cut short in a shocking act of violence. On March 17, 2020, deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence off Stall Road following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of Pamela and 64-year-old John Coleman.
Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Further investigation by the Charleston County Coroner's Office and the Sheriff's Office revealed the incident to be a murder-suicide. Authorities determined that John Coleman was the perpetrator, having shot Pamela before taking his own life. The investigation concluded that this was a domestic violence incident and there was no further threat to the public. As a result, no arrests were made, and no other suspects were sought in connection with Pamela's death.
Pamela Coleman was a beloved member of her community, known for her dedication to her work and her church. She was employed as an accountant at Roper Saint Francis and had served for many years as the Children's Director at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, where she was affectionately known as 'Miss Pam' by the children she mentored.
