Susan J. "Susie" Jackson, an 87-year-old resident of Charleston, South Carolina, tragically lost her life on June 17, 2015. She was one of the nine victims of a mass shooting that occurred during a Bible study session at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, also known as Mother Emanuel, in Charleston. The shooting took place around 9 PM during a prayer meeting, and it was a racially motivated attack.
