Cynthia Graham Hurd, a dedicated librarian and community leader, tragically lost her life on June 17, 2015, at the age of 54. She was one of the nine victims of the Charleston church shooting, a racially motivated attack that took place during a Bible study session at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
