Deja Dantley, a 23-year-old resident of North Charleston, South Carolina, tragically lost her life on February 26, 2019. The incident occurred outside the Citadel Mall in Charleston, where Deja was fatally shot. According to reports, witnesses heard an argument between a man and a woman in the mall's parking lot around 5:30 PM. The man, later identified as Cary Stephens, shot Deja from his vehicle.
