Lashanti's death moved swiftly, and within a month, law enforcement officials announced the apprehension of four individuals in connection with the fatal shooting. The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Gratarius Calhoun, 20-year-old Javon Newsome, and two 17-year-old females from the nearby city of Greenwood. All four faced the grave charge of murder in the death of the young high school student.
