began outside the apartment complex. Brittany Tucker reportedly approached a neighbor and friend, 20-year-old Anteshia Longwood, and fatally shot her. Following this initial act of violence, Tucker proceeded to her own apartment where her four children were. It was there that she systematically shot and killed each of them: Tremayne, age 12; Trechelle, age 8; Treasure, age 5; and the youngest, Gloria, who was just an infant. After killing her children, Brittany Tucker took her own life before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
The investigation into the horrific event revealed that Brittany Tucker had been grappling with mental health issues. According to the interim police chief at the time, she had been diagnosed with a mental illness in the years prior and was receiving treatment.
