In a tragic and heart-wrenching series of events that unfolded in Monroe, Louisiana, 5-month-old Glory Tucker, a female infant, lost her life on June 11, 2020. The devastating incident was a mass murder-suicide perpetrated by her mother, 30-year-old Brittany Tucker. Reports from authorities indicate that Brittany was experiencing a significant mental health crisis in the days leading up to the horrific event.
On that Thursday evening, at the Parkview Apartments, Brittany Tucker first
shot and killed her 20-year-old neighbor, Anteshia Logwood, in the parking lot. Following this, she returned to her apartment where she fatally shot her four children. Besides Glory, the other young victims were her siblings: 12-year-old Tremayne Tucker, 8-year-old Trechelle Tucker, and 5-year-old Treasure Tucker. After killing her children and neighbor, Brittany Tucker then took her own life with the same firearm she had legally purchased just days before.
Witnesses later reported observing Brittany exhibiting irrational behavior and brandishing the handgun at the apartment complex prior to the shootings, but law enforcement was not contacted. Monroe Police Chief Reggie Brown lamented that an earlier intervention might have prevented the tragedy, as her actions were a clear cry for help. The community was left in a state of shock and mourning following the loss of six lives in such a violent and distressing manner. As the perpetrator died by suicide at the scene, there were no arrests or trials in this case.
