On July 1, 2024, in Anderson, South Carolina, 74-year-old Sally Bleckley Geiger Brainerd was fatally shot in her home. Authorities responded to a 911 call around 11:20 p.m. and found her with a gunshot wound to the back; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
