On May 8, 1997, the body of 34-year-old Paula Thomason was discovered in a remote area along Old Belton Highway in Anderson, South Carolina. She had been reported missing nearly two months earlier, on March 19, 1997. Thomason had recently moved to Greenville, SC, and was fostering a six-month-old child before her disappearance.
