In the early morning hours of June 24, 2021, a workplace dispute escalated into a fatal shooting in a West Columbia, South Carolina parking lot, claiming the life of 33-year-old Daniel Demetrius Jones. The incident, which occurred around 7:07 a.m. in the Capitol Square parking lot across from the House of Raeford chicken plant, was the culmination of an ongoing conflict between Jones and his coworker, Trevor Anthony Irvin.
