In the summer of 2021, the life of 14-year-old Daeun Marcelis Odom was tragically cut short in West Columbia, South Carolina. On the afternoon of Saturday, July 31, 2021, officers from the West Columbia Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 800 block of Osage Avenue. Upon their arrival at the residence, they discovered the body of the young male. Daeun, a resident of nearby Gaston, was pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body.
