On the night of October 20, 2021, the quiet of Dallas Circle in Aiken was broken by reports of gunfire, and deputies were sent to a home at 24 Dallas Circle. Inside, they found Caleb D. Hill, 30, a Black man, unresponsive on a living-room couch with gunshot wounds. Aiken County EMS confirmed he had died there, turning what began as a shots-fired call into a homicide scene.
